Dr. Lopamudra’s journey in medicine was inspired by her family’s background and her desire to serve society. She always wanted to help people. Her father, Mr. Bibhuti Bhusan Sahu, dreamed of her becoming a doctor, a goal she achieved with an MBBS, a Postgraduate Diploma in Geriatric Medicine (PGDGM), and advanced certification in internal medicine.
Her entry into beauty pageants was a challenge to herself and societal norms. Winning titles like Mrs. India Legacy Fashion Icon 2022-23, Mrs. India Diva Queen 2023, and Mrs. Asia Glamorous Queen 2023, she balanced her medical career with pageantry. “People questioned if she was abandoning her profession,”. “But she managed to balance both.”
Dr. Lopamudra entered pageants to break social stigmas. “Doctors can be multifaceted,” she asserts. Her pageantry success has amplified her voice for social causes. Beyond the glitz, she is deeply committed to social activism, leading initiatives for underprivileged children, women and the elderly. She aim to bring positive change, break social stigma, empower women, and serve mankind,.
Through initiatives such as free health camps, summer campaigns for children, cancer awareness campaigns and the Masik Satya campaign focusing on menstrual hygiene for underprivileged women. Dr. Lopamudra has showcased her dedication to improving public health and social welfare.
In 2023, She founded Pakhi Entertainment along with her Husband Dr. Akhilesh Samal, a production house with a mission to empower underprivileged girls and women. “Pakhi Entertainment aims to break societal taboos, create a platform for hidden talent and provide recognition & opportunities through international pageants. The initiative reflects her vision of uplifting those who often go unnoticed, giving them a chance to shine on a broader stage. Pakhi The Premium Salon combines beauty with treatment, elevating her social service achievements as a doctor and beauty pageant winner. This unique blend highlights her dedication to both aesthetics and healthcare, making a significant impact in both fields.
Balancing her roles as a doctor, pageant winner and social activist requires immense dedication and time management. Though It’s really a hard job to manage but, with the support of my family, I manage her duties and continue her social activities. She credits her success to her family. Her parents, Mrs. Padmabati Sahu and Mr. Bibuti Bhushan Sahu, have always supported her decisions and encouraged her to give her best. Her husband, Dr. Akhilesh Samal, working in critical care, is her support system and mentor. Her two elder sisters inspired her to strive for more. She would be in greatful to her in-laws and friends for their unwavering support and love. She always show her gratitude to them.
She aims to establish a hospitality project to provide health benefits for social activities and create more platforms for hidden talents through Pakhi Entertainment.
